"Farei Joias" is a project and community born from the opportunity to transmit jewelry knowledge to people throughout Brazil, without geographic or financial limitations.
People of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds who interact and share professional and life experiences. Brazilians from different locations and ethnicities, from urban centers to quilombos and indigenous villages. The members of the project let their creativity flow, explore their surroundings, their objects and resort to their affective memory.

Since 1985, she has dedicated herself to representing the Cerrado, a special Brazilian biome, using recycled metals and maintaining traditional production methods, as well as prioritizing artisan associations and biodegradable packaging. Founder of the Farei Joias project, which aims to teach the art of jewelry to people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds, making jewelry a cultural and inclusive field.

Suas obras chamam a atenção para a importância da sua preservação– o "Arara Vermelha" possui uma extensão de mais de 2.000 km e é reconhecido como um dos mais piscosos do planeta, possui um leito arenoso e em constante transformação. Anajuly vem enfocando nascentes, reflorestamento e a responsabilidade ambiental. O objetivo é despertar a consciência sobre a necessidade de proteger o Rio e suas características únicas para as futuras gerações.

It is a collection that celebrates a deep connection with the Araguaia River. The artist experienced its beauty and simplicity during her childhood, fostering a profound appreciation for its nature. Her works draw attention to the importance of its preservation – the "Red Macaw" has a length of over 2,000 km and is recognized as one of the most fish-abundant on the planet, featuring a sandy and ever-changing bed. Anajuly has been focusing on springs, reforestation, and environmental responsibility. Cada joia é um testemunho da nossa conexão com a mata, a floresta que abraçou nossa história por gerações. Ouriços de sementes, fibras, folhas, penas e plumas de aves se entrelaçavam em uma sinfonia de cores e texturas. Os fios, retirados das cordas que amarravam nossas embarcações às margens do rio, encontravam uma segunda vida, tecendo memórias e histórias.
Lembro-me de meu avô, o artesão sábio, pedindo que eu criasse colares para ele levar ao mundo exterior. Talvez fosse apenas um pretexto para me envolver com a arte que me hipnotizava, enquanto eu observava seu trabalho meticuloso. Assim, eu me lançava na produção, com mãos pequenas e olhos curiosos.
Eu escolhia sementes de cápia, e, por ser pequena, encontrava desafios na tarefa de enfiá-las na linha. Optava pelas putrefatas, que se entregavam mais facilmente. Meu avô, generoso e orgulhoso, agradecia com palavras de encorajamento, elogiando minha arte, enquanto levava os colares consigo.
Na manhã seguinte, sua chegada era como um presente do rio, anunciando vendas bem-sucedidas. E ele me trazia leite e pão doce, sabores que eu apreciava. Assim, as águas do rio eram embaladas em joias de tradição, e eu, uma jovem artesã, encontrava minha voz nas linhas e nas cores da nossa herança.
Each piece of jewelry is a testament to our connection with the forest, the forest that has embraced our history for generations. Seed husks, fibers, leaves, feathers, and bird plumes intertwined in a symphony of colors and textures. The threads, taken from the ropes that tied our boats to the riverbanks, found a second life, weaving memories and stories.
I remember my grandfather, the wise artisan, asking me to create necklaces for him to take to the outside world. Perhaps it was just a pretext to involve me in the art that mesmerized me as I watched his meticulous work. And so, I embarked on the production, with small hands and curious eyes.
I chose kapok seeds, and, being small, I faced challenges in the task of threading them onto the line. I opted for the decayed ones, which yielded more easily. My generous and proud grandfather expressed his gratitude with words of encouragement, praising my art, as he took the necklaces with him.
The following morning, his arrival was like a gift from the river, announcing successful sales. And he brought me milk and sweet bread, flavors I enjoyed. Thus, the waters of the river were encapsulated in the tradition of jewelry, and I, a young artisan, found my voice in the lines and colors of our heritage.

Rosa de Holanda escolheu o caminho menos percorrido ao trazer à vida esta coleção singular, que revela sua profunda ligação com o coco babaçu. Sua jornada começou há mais de uma década no mundo da joalheria, mas foi há apenas dois anos que ela se aventurou na criação de suas próprias peças. E agora, ela nos apresenta uma visão revolucionária, enriquecida com criatividade e autenticidade.
Ao mergulharmos nesta coleção, somos convidados a apreciar a essência do Babaçu, um aroma que remete às memórias de infância, à simplicidade e à liberdade em Olho d'Água, no município de Afonso Cunha, onde o Riacho Jatobá e o sítio são cenários de aventuras vividas por ela e sua comunidade, onde traíras, mandis e piranhas eram capturados e preparados com cuidado, assados em fogareiros de carvão feitos com as cascas do coco babaçu.
Sem acesso a geladeiras, o sal e o sol eram os melhores amigos da preservação dos sabores. Em noites de lua cheia, as crianças da comunidade compartilhavam histórias e causos ao redor de fogueiras, enquanto assavam as castanhas de caju que haviam secado ao sol.
Não é apenas sobre joias; é uma celebração da cultura, da natureza e da determinação das quebradeiras de coco babaçu. É um tributo às raízes de Rosa e à sua visão criativa que se desenrola diante de nós.

Rosa de Holanda chose the less-traveled path to bring this unique collection to life, revealing her deep connection with the babaçu coconut. Her journey began over a decade ago in the world of jewelry, but it was only two years ago that she ventured into creating her own pieces. And now, she presents us with a revolutionary vision, enriched with creativity and authenticity.
As we delve into this collection, we are invited to appreciate the essence of Babaçu, an aroma that harks back to childhood memories, simplicity, and freedom in Olho d'Água, in the municipality of Afonso Cunha. There, the Riacho Jatobá and the site were the settings for adventures experienced by her and her community, where traíras, mandis, and piranhas were caught and carefully prepared, roasted on charcoal stoves made from the shells of the babaçu coconut.
With no access to refrigeration, salt and the sun were the best friends for preserving flavors. On full moon nights, the community's children shared stories and tales around campfires while roasting sun-dried cashews.
It's not just about jewelry; it's a celebration of culture, nature, and the determination of the "quebradeiras de coco babaçu." It's a tribute to Rosa's roots and her creative vision unfolding before us.

Neste legado, ela estava imersa, aprendendo a arte desde o início: criação, design, produção e a habilidade de vender. Sua jornada se desdobrou no domínio da joalheria, onde ela testemunhou as dores e as alegrias desse ofício em primeira mão.

Tucanos, papagaios e periquitos. O aroma da floresta se mistura com o azul do céu. Além das fronteiras que separam da metrópole, encontramos o coração da cultura Tupi Guarani. Um solo que recebe com gentileza e o sol que aquece, unindo águas e pessoas. A terra é a base que nos permite avançar em direção ao futuro. Um caminho singular representando um mundo por si só. Os curumins, os anciãos, e as mulheres que perpetuam o que suas mães e avós foram, o que existia antes das avós.
Ser Piaçaguera é fazer parte dum território indígena que é atravessado pelo tempo. Dentro da comunidade, há tarefas a cumprir, movimentos e, ainda assim, há calma. Quando a mão repousa, a joia é observada de dentro para fora. A tranquilidade encontra o conhecimento que sempre esteve ali. Um pacto é feito com a própria terra, consciente e sustentável: não desmatar, não matar. Uma ponte é construída para preservar a cultura e a tradição. O terreno fértil para a expressão e celebração. A joalheria tem um significado profundo e é um adorno esplêndido. O olhar que compreende os sentidos ancestrais. Cada peça representa a caça, a pesca, mas também a luta e a festa. É o arco trançado de "taquara", o cipó imbé e as palhas. Penas que trocam histórias, pequenas mãos que rompem as barreiras da inacessibilidade. Toucans, parrots, and parakeets. The forest's aroma blends with the blue of the sky. Beyond the borders that separate it from the metropolis, we find the heart of Tupi Guarani culture. The land, which receives with gentleness, and the sun that warms, uniting waters and people. The land is the foundation that allows us to move toward the future. A unique path representing a world of its own. The children, the elders, and the women who perpetuate what their mothers and grandmothers were, what existed before grandmothers.
Being Piaçaguera means being part of an indigenous territory that is crossed by time. Within the community, there are tasks to fulfill, movements, and yet, there is calm. When the hand rests, the jewel is observed from the inside out. Tranquility finds the knowledge that has always been there. A pact is made with the land itself, conscious and sustainable: not to deforest, not to kill. A bridge is built to preserve culture and tradition. Fertile ground for expression and celebration. Jewelry holds deep meaning and is a splendid adornment. An eye that understands ancestral senses. Each piece represents hunting, fishing, but also struggle and festivity. It is the woven bow of "taquara," the imbé vine and straw. Feathers that exchange stories, small hands that break through barriers of inaccessibility. Women dedicated to planting and harvesting hearts of palm.

Esta exposição não é apenas uma celebração da arte, mas uma manifestação de amor e preocupação por um dos tesouros naturais mais valiosos de Minas Gerais: a Serra do Curral, localizada nas proximidades de Belo Horizonte, cidade natal de Carolina.
A Serra abriga uma rica biodiversidade e é um importante pilar da saúde hídrica da região, com inúmeras nascentes e afluentes que contribuem para o Rio das Velhas. Este ecossistema é essencial para o equilíbrio e a sustentabilidade de Belo Horizonte. A Serra é também o lar de espécies únicas do cerrado mineiro, como a orquídea Cattleya crispata e a gralha-do-campo, que serviram de inspiração para esta coleção.
No entanto, ela enfrenta ameaças constantes, principalmente devido às atividades mineradoras na região, com projetos que muitas vezes operam de forma irregular, colocando em risco não apenas as espécies da Serra, mas todo o equilíbrio ecológico das cidades circunvizinhas. Carolina Puppe cresceu observando a Serra, testemunhando sua deterioração e os impactos no ecossistema ao longo dos anos.
Ela é um corredor ecológico crucial que merece ser preservado e restaurado em áreas degradadas. Desempenha um papel essencial em nossa existência, fornecendo água, plantas medicinais e mantendo o ciclo da biodiversidade que sustenta nossas vidas.
"Hail, Hail, Serra do Curral!"
This exhibition is not just a celebration of art, but an expression of love and concern for one of Minas Gerais' most precious natural treasures: Serra do Curral, located near Belo Horizonte, Carolina's hometown.
The Serra harbors rich biodiversity and serves as a vital pillar for the region's water health, with numerous springs and tributaries that contribute to the Rio das Velhas. This ecosystem is essential for the balance and sustainability of Belo Horizonte. The Serra is also home to unique species of the Cerrado biome, such as the Cattleya crispata orchid and the Campo Flicker, which have served as inspiration for this collection.
However, it faces constant threats, primarily due to mining activities in the region, often operating irregularly, jeopardizing not only the Serra's species but the entire ecological balance of nearby cities. Carolina Puppe grew up observing the Serra, bearing witness to its degradation and the impacts on the ecosystem over the years.
It is a crucial ecological corridor deserving preservation and restoration in degraded areas. It plays an essential role in our existence, providing water, medicinal plants, and sustaining the biodiversity cycle that supports our lives.

"Antonina"
In the essence of my work, I find an endless source of inspiration that springs from a repository of experiences and narratives echoing in the depths of my being. An inner, subtle, and profound voice that guides me back to a special place, where the heart of my maternal grandmother, Antonina, resides. Her story is like a thread of light interweaving with my destiny.
Antonina, a soul that crossed borders and dark times, fled Russia during the harsh years of World War II. Her soul was imbued with an unparalleled joy, and her singing, accompanied by her brother, resonated in wedding and baptism celebrations. She had such an overwhelming passion for music that, at times, she would even escape through her window to sing melodies to the wind.
Amidst the war, she witnessed indescribable horrors, taking shelter in underground bunkers and among the ruins of tiny buildings. Antonina bore witness to the worst of humanity, yet she never faltered. Married and a mother of four children, she saw tragedy claim two of them during that somber period. However, her determination remained unshakable.
After the conflict, Antonina found refuge in Brazil, a country that welcomed immigrants. She embarked on a diligent journey, starting in an industry and later setting up a small candy stall in a local market. It was from the proceeds of this modest business that she and my grandfather built a family and raised their children. Astonishingly, she worked at the market until the remarkable age of 82 years.

QUILOMBO "QUEBRA CHIFRE" - SERGIPE
O solo da comunidade quilombola é um solo que guarda a história de antever os inimigos. Originado pela fuga dos que ainda não haviam nascido, outrora pertencente a uma vasta região açucareira, hoje se transformou em um território de migração. Encontra-se ainda na zona rural, situado no município de Riachuelo, no Vale do Cotinguiba. Este solo é fecundo, cruzado por rios, abraçado por terra e floresta. É um solo que observa incessantemente, que clama diante das ameaças iminentes. Quando o capataz se aproximava, o grito do vigia “quebra do chifre” era o preparo para a batalha. É um corpo que nunca repousa, um corpo que é sinônimo de resistência.
Em 2020, esse quilombo recebeu a certificação da Fundação Cultural Palmares. As comunidades remanescentes de quilombo tiveram que se adaptar a viver em locais por vezes hostis. No entanto, elas conseguiram preservar suas tradições culturais e aprenderam a obter seus meios de subsistência a partir dos recursos naturais disponíveis, enquanto se tornaram guardiãs desses recursos, interagindo tanto com outros grupos e comunidades tradicionais quanto com a sociedade que as cerca.
Hoje, uma das batalhas mais prementes deles é a luta por acesso à água potável.
